Social Justice

Our members and friends work in many areas to help make this a better world--environmental advocacy, human rights, and various social service projects.

Senior Center

We share an outreach ministry to the senior members of our community through a Senior Center in our church. The Town of Lancaster rents space from Monday through Thursday for a noontime meals program for seniors. Our members and friends volunteer in the Senior Center.

Service Committtee

The Service Committee collects donations for valuable projects of service and compassionate action. 

Donation of Food Items for Wheat Pantry-

We continue to collect food donations for the Wheat food pantry.  Please bring items to church and place them in the larger labeled basket located under the table on the far wall between the two Sunday school classrooms.  The items collected for each month for the coming year are as follows:

Sep 2010 - cereals 

Oct 2010 - squashes, potatoes, root vegetables that will last 

Nov 2010 - Thanksgiving meal foods 

Dec 2010 - Christmas foods, similar to Thanksgiving foods 

Jan 2011 - spaghetti, sauces and pasta

Feb 2011 - soups and crackers

Mar 2011 - beans, rices and legumes

Apr 2011 - canned fruits and vegetables

May 2011 - tuna, canned meats

Jun 2011 - peanut butter, jellies, snacks

Battered Woman's Resources, Inc.-

We are also continuing our monthly collection of personal items for the BWRI, such as tooth brushes, tooth paste, soaps, shampoos, personal hygiene and make up items.  There is a smaller labeled basket in the same location as for the canned goods and food items for Wheat.
