Children's Programs

Nursery (3 months - 5 years)

Childcare is provided complimentarily by the First Church in the Nursery Room, adjacent to the classrooms in the community hall. Our childcare provider is Red Cross/CPR certified. Childcare is available on Sunday mornings from 10:15 am until 11:45 am . Parents are welcome to spend as much or as little time in the nursery with their children as they like. We consider the nursery experience to be our children's first encounter with the faith community as 'safe' and welcoming. Parents are required to fill out a registration form and sign their children both in and out.

Elementary Class (grades K - 6)

This group meets most Sundays (see schedule available on our website and in the RE classrooms) during the regular church hours of 10:30-11:30. Most Sundays we begin in the sanctuary for worship. After approximately 20 minutes and a Story for All Ages, we move on to our classroom time together. On Communion Sundays we begin in the classroom and join the congregation for Communion during the last 15 minutes of worship. Our curriculum for Grades 4-6 during the 2010-11 year is titled "Spirit of Adventure". It is an activity based program that explores the Unitarian Universalist Faith through physical movement and adventure. Our Early Elementary group, Grades K-3 will be following the "Moral Tales"/Tapestry of Faith curriculum that is part of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations.

Youth Group

We are in the process of growing and redesigning our middle and high school youth programs. Ideally, these groups will be led through a different curriculum each year and be involved in community outreach programs promoting a sense of belonging. They will embark on a spiritual journey through the exploration of faith and internal reflection to develop into strong and independent young adults. Please speak with or DRE or Minister if you have children who would be interested in this program or if are interested in helping.
