Worship: Services| Minister's Study |
||
On Sunday morning, we gather for congregational worship to confront together the crucial questions of life with words, music, and prayer. Worshipping together is the center of our life at First Church.Worship services are every SundaySummer Services - July - August - 9:30am - Community Hall Regular Services - September - June - Sanctuary 10:00am - 10:15am Prayer and Meditation 10:30am Worship and Sunday School 11:30am Coffee Hour FROM THE MINISTER'S STUDY . . . . “And what is so rare as a day in June?” wrote James Russell Lowell (a Unitarian, by the way). And Lowell continues speaking of the “flush of life” found in the “hills and valleys,” in the plants that adorn the meadows, and in the bird expressing the full delight of song. The poet speaks of the ebb and flow of seasons as that of tide, and he celebrates the “ripply cheer” of June as the “high-tide of the year.” We are happy now because God wills it; No matter what the past has held for you, no matter what lows you might have experienced, jump with joy into this June. Don’t let another June go past without noticing the beauty about you blossoming everywhere. No matter what your age, make this June into springtime for your life. Follow the poets call to be “happy now because God will it.” Many blessings, Rev. Dr. Paul Hull |
