Little Free Pantry
Dedicated on September 13, 2020.
The Little Free Pantry (LFP) is a national effort to assist local communities in need. The First Church Junior Youth Group wanted to explore and be a part of this effort. With the help from a talented local carpenter, the kids designed, assisted with construction and painted the pantry. The Jr. Youth Group recognized that many families might be struggling right now so the decision was made to open on Easter Sunday, 2020. The Little Free Pantry provides the opportunity to help build a sense of community while providing for those in need. The LFP is a large free standing cabinet stocked with nonperishable food items, hygiene products, and household items. The pantry is filled with donated items by the community for the community. Look for the Little Free Pantry at the end of the half circle near the Lilac Trees. Safety guidelines are posted on the glass window of the pantry.
Great big thanks to the Junior Youth Group for all their work in making this happen for their community. Special thanks to Erik Bedding for his time and craftsmanship, Manuela Michel for her artistic touch, Win Clark for his never ending support, and thank you to all the children from the church who signed the pantry with hand and thumb prints.
