Community Events
Lancaster’s town green is the home of one of America’s great architectural gems – the Charles Bulfinch designed Fifth Meeting House, which also serves today as the home of the First Church of Christ Unitarian. Built in 1816 in only 157 days, the building is one of only a few Bulfinch churches.

In 2016, the Church’s Bulfinch 200 committee along with the Bulfinch Fund (separate, not church affiliated) kicked off a year-long celebration of the iconic building and its rich history in the town of Lancaster.

The building and our church have always been a community center where we have held and participated in many community events. We have sold pumpkins, held memorial services, run the annual Horseshed Fair and Strawberry Festivals, supported community Halloween and Easter celebrations, held a community Christmas eve service, and much more. We also enjoy supporting the local arts and cultural community with concerts, recitals, art shows, fairs, historical reenactments and lectures, tours and more.

Keep an eye on the schedule below for upcoming town and cultural events held at the meeting house!
