Origami Peace Crane, 2025
Decorate your holiday tree with a piece of Lancaster history! This edition is limited to 1,000 cranes hand-folded by Rev. Wil Darcangelo, 18th Minister of the First Church of Christ, Unitarian, in Lancaster from retired hymnals used by our congregation in our historic sanctuary designed by Charles Bulfinch, America’s first architect. Legend states that if an individual folds 1,000 peace cranes they will get their wish. Our wish is for the complete interior restoration of our historical national landmark 1816 meetinghouse, so that future generations may enjoy it. Your purchase of this ornament will help fund that restoration process in time for our 375th anniversary in 2028. For the next four Christmas seasons, we will release 250 ornaments with a different color tassel and dated brass tag each year, to complete a set of four by 2028. We hope that our wish to restore the interior of this national landmark becomes your wish, too!
