Join us for Black History Sunday with Rev. Wil for a service entitled “The Light That Cannot Be Unlearned.” In our own lifetime, we have seen truths once denied now widely acknowledged: that systemic racism exists; that mass incarceration is a moral crisis; that Black lives matter—not as a slogan, but as a spiritual truth. What must we, as a principled, spiritual community, do next? Stay awake. Practice courageous love. Build, not just protest. Protect our hope. And remember who we are. After-service BHM film screening of The Rosa Parks Story, starring Angela Bassett, hosted by The First Church Justice League following a brief coffee hour. All are welcome! Also, on Wednesday, February 4 at 6PM we will hold our 2nd annual Rosa Parks Day Service, honoring the second observance of Rosa Parks Day in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Featuring performances by The Kingdom Voices and Glory Choir, directed by Kirosha Sidelca. Rep. Michael Kushmerek, the MA Representative who helped Rev. Wil get the Rosa Parks Day bill passed, will be our guest speaker.
