Join for a special bluegrass music service featuring the music of the Free Range Pickers bluegrass ensemble (members of which jam in our parlor every Sunday afternoon!) and an exploration of the fascinating traditions of Appalachian spirituality. Appalachian religion blends European settler beliefs, Native American traditions, and unique regional experiences. This mix created a distinct religious landscape that has shaped Appalachian culture for generations. Along with multiple Christian expressions, unique practices like snake handling, speaking in tongues, and faith healing coexist with folk beliefs, superstitions, and supernatural elements, creating a rich spiritual tapestry.
