Beginner Group (K-3rd), Chinese New Year

The children will decorate their own Festival-of-Lights Chinese lanterns while learning about the exciting cultural and spiritual traditions of Chinese New Year. If the class has time, they’ll express their hopes for a good New Year by learning to write the Chinese characters for Gong Xi Fa Cai! Happy New Year!

“Picture Book World Religions”. Children will explore various religions with a focus on Hinduism, Islam, and Buddhism. Children will learn through celebrations, music, crafts and beautiful picture books. In addition we will explore concepts such as the value of wisdom and loyalty, the importance of family, and the practice of compassion for all living beings.
