A meditation on the embodiment of God
The great German poet Rainer Maria Rilke wrote that as God makes us, God instructs us to be an embodiment of God. If, as we so often say, God is love, how does that translate into our being? What does it mean to BE love, to embody God’s love and what kind of love is that? In the face of profound injustice and oppression, what does it mean to love our enemies, our oppressors, the oppressor within?
